Hot Competition at the Swim Ulster War Memorial Gala

 

With around 20 clubs competing at the Swim Ulster War Memorial Gala, there was much talent on display. Gala events included Women and Mens Medley relay, Girls

and Boys Under 12 and Under 14 Medley and Freestyle relay events. There was

also a memorial ceremony followed by a prize-giving to award recent achievements such as Swimmer of the Year, Official of the Year, and Disability Swimmer of the Year.

 

Elizabeth Long Trophy for Most Promising Junior Girl 11 years – presented by Alan Moneypenny from Sport Northern Ireland, and Claire McGrath President Swim Ireland to Jemma Speers from Bangor Swimming Club

Elizabeth Long Trophy for Most Promising Junior Boy 11 years – presented by Alan Moneypenny from Sport Northern Ireland, and Claire McGrath President Swim Ireland to Michael Evans of Ballymoney Swimming Club

Belfast Telegraph Swimmer of the Year Trophy – won by Ryan Harrison from City of Derry Swimming Club. Presented by Alan Moneypenny from Sport Northern Ireland, and Claire McGrath President Swim Ireland to Ryan’s father David Harrison.

Swim Ulster President Claire McGrath presents David Craig of Swim Ulster with the Official of the Year Trophy.

Matthew Bell of Leander Swimming Club receives the Disability Swimmer of the Year Trophy from Swim Ireland President Claire McGrath.
