Inclusive Community Coach
Disability Sports NI is currently recruiting 15 people to train as volunteer ‘Inclusive Community Coaches’, as a result of a new training initiative designed to increase the number of participation opportunities available to people with disabilities, living in local communities throughout Northern Ireland.
The training initiative which is being funded by the ‘Big Lottery Fund’ and supported by Sport Northern Ireland, will see a network of fully insured coaches successfully trained by the end of March 2008.
To complete the ‘Inclusive Community Coaching’ award trainees will be required to complete 30hrs of training and assessment spread over 3 training weekends in February and March 2008.
However, once trained each ‘Inclusive Community Coach’ will have the knowledge and skills necessary to deliver a range of inclusive sports, games and multi skills sessions to children and adults with disabilities and their non-disabled peers, in their local community.
