McCorkell Performs Personal Best...

Jenna McCorkell is on a high after performing a lifetime best in her career at the Ondrej Napala Trophy, Bratislava at the weekend.

In her first outing since the European Championships in February, Jenna put in two great performances to take the overall bronze medal. She came second in the free just sneaking in behind former European Champion Julia Sebestyn. With a record 135.71 pts Jenna exceeded her personal best set two years ago at the China Cup and qualified for the European and World C'Ships 2008 in the process.

Jenna, a Sport Northern Ireland funded athlete, is continuing with the great performance that she displayed at the European's in February following a season plagued with injury. This result confirms that Jenna's fitness and form is back and she is also displaying more consistency in her programmes. This year Jenna travelled to Los Angeles to have her programmes choreographed by top international choreographer Lorna Brown who has worked with the greats including the late great John Curry.

Having now relocated to Belgium to train under Vera Vandeceyve, considered one of the great technical coaches in the world, it would seem that Jenna has found the winning edge - Jen is definetly back!
