Sport Northern Ireland funded squash player Madeline Perry won her fourth Canon Kirk Irish Open; winning 3-0 thanks to an excellent display against Vanessa Atkinson of the Netherlands.
The first game could have gone either way. Indeed, Atkinson had a game ball at 11-10. Perry was making plenty of uncharacteristic errors, while Atkinson played the short game very well.
The turning point of the match came in the second game when Perry, who was leading 8-6 at the time, won a 60 shot rally.
Atkinson tired visibly after this point and she seemed deflated while Perry, who is one of the hardest hitters in the game upped her pace and intensity to take the second game 1-8 and she raced through the third game 11-6.
It is another great success for the Banbridge woman coming just two weeks after her victory in the Australian Open.
Madeline will now take a short break before competing in the World Championships in Egypt in a fortnight's time.
