What
is Activ8?
Activ8
is a new initiative from Sport Northern Ireland promoting
8 steps for children to get active and stay healthy.
Activ8 encourages Key Stage 2 pupils to take part in
at least 60 mins of physical activity per day, before,
during and after school. The initiative is supported
by all five Education and Library Boards (ELBs) and
the Health Promotion Agency.
What
will pupils do and how will they benefit?
Pupils
can complete an Activ8 Diary (included in the Activ8
pack) to encourage them to participate in 60 minutes
of physical activity every day and record their success.
Pupils that have successfully completed the Activ8 Diary
Challenge can be given a certificate to acknowledge
their achievement and promote sustained involvement
in physical activity.
