Registration: All clubs wishing to work towards Clubmark NI accreditation must register online. From here your clubs details will be forwarded to the appropriate Clubmark NI scheme operated by either your sport’s governing body or local council. All clubs from sports in which a governing body endorsed Clubmark NI scheme is in place can only gain accreditation through their governing body scheme. View a full listing of Clubmark NI endorsed schemes.

Information and Guidance: The organisation operating your Clubmark NI scheme (your clubs governing body or local authority) will get in touch to arrange an introductory meeting with your club to help you establish what your club needs to do to gain accreditation and to help get your club started. They will also provide you with a named ‘Support Officer’ who can provide guidance as required while your club works towards accreditation.

Club Development: Based on your club’s development  plan your club can work towards putting in place to policies, practices and procedures that will enable you club to become accredited. Your ‘Support Officer’ will provide guidance on this.

Accreditation: Clubs must be registered online and must evidence their ability to meeting the minimum operating standards of the scheme.  Some Governing Body schemes may have additional criteria (your Support Officer will advise).  As your club moves through the process, they will upload specific documentation that will evidence their ability to meet the standard.  Progress against all documentation being in place will be shown on the Online system.  Clubs should ensure that all documentation and evidence are uploaded as a PDF.  (Guidance on this is available).

When your club has successfully uploaded all the supporting evidence and the assessor is content that it meets all the requirements, a club visit will be arranged for your assessor to see your club in action. If successful at this point your club will be awarded Clubmark NI accreditation.

To ensure information is up to date, each accredited club submits an online annual health-check.  These must be completed to maintain your Clubmark status.  The Online system will send notification of the health check 30 days in advance of its due date.

Clubmark accreditation is valid for a three year period from the date it is awarded.  Once accreditation has expired, clubs must register for reaccreditation and re-submit updated evidence for reaccreditation every three years.  You will receive notification to re-accredit 90 days prior to expiry.
