Sport NI, in partnership with the Department for Communities, initially opened the Sports Hardship Fund on the 14th April to deliver immediate funding to help sports clubs and other organisations delivering sporting activities who are experiencing financial hardship.
A summary of the Sports Hardship Fund is available below. Clubs and organisations covering a wide variety of sports and activities have been recognised by Sport NI and received assistance.

Any organisation delivering sport and physical recreation can apply to our fund if experiencing short term financial hardship.

What we’ll fund
The fund has been developed to help sport and physical recreation organisations meet their obligations, in particular fixed costs, which are no longer supported with revenue as a result of coronavirus. This might cover expenditure on:
How much we’ll fund
Each successful applicant will receive £2,000 for costs incurred from 1st April 2020.
The Sports Hardship Fund is not currently open for new applications, but will update as we progress.
