Sport NI, in partnership with the Department for Communities, initially opened the Sports Hardship Fund on the 14th April 2020 to deliver immediate funding to help sports clubs and other organisations delivering sporting activities who are experiencing financial hardship. A total of 915 clubs across N. Ireland received payments totalling £2,298,000.
