Mighty Quinn is Back!

Sport Northern Ireland funded athlete Karla Quinn has made ice skating history by becoming the first ever NI female skater to take three British titles at Novice, Primary and Junior levels.  On Thursday 10 January Karla took the British Junior title in Sheffield, putting in two phenomenal performances.  She performed a personal best in the Short programme and made the Senior British Qualification score, the only Junior in the competition to do so.  She then equalled her performance of Deeside in the long to take the Championship.

‘This is so deserved by Karla, she has really put in the miles on and off the ice, and to take this prestigious title is amazing.  In the 20 year history of the sport in Northern Ireland Karla has become only the third skater to take this title and the first ever female skater to take the Novice, Primary and Junior British Titles!  It is over eight years since the last recipient brought the title home, however Karla’s steely determination has seen her against all the odds bring the title home again!’  Stated AKR Promotions Karla’s PR Company.

Karla since end of January last year has taken the following medals and titles:

1st          Telford National Open

1st          Bracknell National Open
