It’s just a few weeks until 2017 European Week of Sport.
This marks the third European Week of Sport, a European Commission initiative to promote and celebrate the benefits of sport and physical activity.
Last year, it was estimated that 10 million people participated in thousands of events across more than 30 countries. The inspiring message of #BeActive promotes sport and physical activity had reached 200 million Europeans.
The week long event is running from 23-30th September and Sport NI would like to encourage all our sporting partners to get involved in 2017 European Week of Sport in some way, by either hosting events or engaging via social media.
European Week of Sport events can be large or small – from new ideas to something you were already planning. Anything that gets people active qualifies – from open days to fancy dress runs, family fun days, bike rides, sports club open days, taster sessions and more – anything that gets people active!
You can register your event here
You can also help spread the #BeActive message on social media and to help, we’ve attached a range of digital assets you can use on your Facebook, Twitter and Instagram – just remember to use the #BeActive hashtag and to tag Sport NI so that we can share your updates. There is also the #BeActive challenge, which gives you the chance to win prizes by sharing your EWoS photos and videos.
