Sport Northern Ireland, in association with Parents in Sport Week 2017, will be holding a series of Pure Winner Anti-Doping Workshops, aimed at parents of emerging talented athletes.

The workshops will take place at Foyle Arena, Derry/Londonderry on Monday 2nd October, and at Crowne Plaza Hotel, Belfast on Wednesday the 4th October.

Sport Northern Ireland’s Pure Winner educators will provide attendees with practical advice and information on regulations, guidelines and best practice to promote clean sport throughout their child’s athletic development.

Topics will include:

  • What is the prohibited list?
  • How do I check what medication is allowed in sport?
  • Is my child at risk when taking supplements?
  • What happens in a drug test?

The workshops have been organised to coincide with 2017 Parents in Sport Week. The Week aims to highlight the valuable role parents play – and the positive influence they have – in ensuring young people develop to their full potential and enjoy their time playing sport.
