Finance Minister Conor Murphy visited Tollymore National Outdoor Centre this morning to announce a new research project to develop a long-term plan for the Mournes.

George Lucas, Chair of Sport Northern Ireland said, “We were delighted to welcome the Minister to Tollymore National Outdoor Centre and show him our excellent facilities as he announced this important research project to develop a long-term plan for Mournes and the social, economic and environmental future of the area.

“The Mournes are of strategic importance to Northern Ireland as a destination, an area of outstanding natural beauty and a hotspot for outdoor sport and recreation. We believe this research and subsequent plan will help outdoor sport and recreation in the area to reach its full potential.”
