Sport NI was established in 1973 in line with the Recreation and Youth Service (NI) Order 1986, and is an Arm’s-Length Body of DfC. Our main objective is the furtherance of sport and physical recreation in Northern Ireland.

The Board has a key role to play both in developing and improving the knowledge and appreciation of sport, and in increasing participation in sport and physical recreation. It also ensures good governance and adherence to public accountability.

All applications for appointment are considered strictly on merit. The closing date for applications is 12 noon on Friday 26 March 2021. A Guaranteed Interview Scheme (GIS) will be used. The aim of the GIS is to provide applicants with a disability the opportunity to demonstrate their abilities beyond the initial application stage.

Further information, including an application pack, can be obtained at

NI Direct or by e-mailing Public Appointments.
