Physical Literacy goes beyond just knowing how to move; it’s about understanding why movement matters and how you feel while doing it. It’s the foundation for a lifetime of physical activity, promoting well-being and preventing disease. By enhancing your physical literacy, you’ll gain the tools to lead a more vibrant, fulfilling life.

Sport NI is committed to the promotion of physical literacy as evidenced by the All-Island Physical Literacy Consensus Statement (AIPLCS). The AIPLCS defines physical literacy as:

PL Statement copyPhysical literacy aims to promote a culture of lifelong participation in physical activity and sport for all. Enabling each person to understand their journey, and relationship with sport and physical activity, recognising what motivates each person and valuing the contribution of sport and physical activity in their life.
