Get ready for UK Coaching Week

Sport NI believe that #GreatCoaching drives sporting activity, great experiences and helps to deliver a healthier, more active and cohesive society. Coaching helps us to be active, improve and connect.

During Coaching Week, clubs, coaches, community groups, education, businesses and the public will come together to showcase and explore how coaches can play a greater role in building healthier, happier communities.

So whatever your title - coach, fitness instructor, leader, teacher or trainer – if you’re helping people to be active, you’re part of the coaching family.

UK Coaching launched its Principles of Great Coaching in 2018’s coaching week based on PEOPLE principals:

People-centred

Empowering

Organised

Positive

Learning

Engaging

In an increasingly digital world, where inactive lifestyles and loneliness are on the rise, the need to get people moving and connected has never been greater.

Coaching is a great solution to this modern-day problem. Together, during Coaching Week we want to send a strong message that explains why it makes sense to support and develop coaches.UK Coaching will also launch the #GreatCoachingPledge to galvanise policy makers, organisations and coaches to publicly commit to bring about more #GreatCoaching.
