Sport Northern Ireland are delighted to be working in partnership with ‘Working with Parents in Sport’ to help support National Governing Bodies to develop the parents and coaches that are currently involved in their sports.

‘Working with Parents in Sport’ supports parents and coaches in working together to provide children with the best possible sporting experiences. The UK based company provides unbiased information in a number of different formats that helps parents and coaches understands the difficulties that they face in today’s world.

WWPIS provide a huge amount of authentic content, designed to help parents make more informed decisions about their children’s sporting careers and aim to support coaches as they navigate the complexities of working alongside today’s sporting parents.

Sport Northern Ireland have developed Tutor Training Event’s which aims to equip National Governing Body tutors with the right content to deliver WWPIS message specifically for coaches and parents in their respective sports.

Currently, the sports who have signed up to this programme are:
Ulster Badminton
Cycling Ireland
Irish Football Association
Swim Ulster
Ulster Hockey

Sport Northern Ireland are actively trying to build capacity within each sport in order to equip their education staff with the correct knowledge and skills to deliver learning opportunities within the sports parenting arena.
