On Monday 13th August the Chair of UK Sport, Dame Katherine Grainger, was in Northern Ireland to meet representatives from Sport NI.

The multiple Olympic medallist was leading a delegation from UK Sport as part of a public consultation around the future of investment in performance sport, across the United Kingdom.

A number of sports that operate in Northern Ireland and align to the Great Britain national bodies attended the consultation, and it was a good opportunity for UK Sport to hear about how performance sport operates in Northern Ireland, the opportunities that are being exploited and the challenges sports face.

During the visit Dame Katherine had an opportunity to meet with Sport NI Chair George Lucas, Vice-Chair Jay Colville and CEO Antoinette McKeown.
