In order to achieve what we have set out above we need the energy and expertise within our Sport’s National Governing Bodies to begin to unearth the information already gathered and begin to build the clear picture that is so evidently needed. We are committed to working closely with our NGB’s and our colleagues at SIRC (Sports Industry Research Group, Sheffield Hallam University) leading the project on our behalf, to share the collective responsibility to build this bigger picture and both Sport NI and SIRC are here to support you in sharing what data you already hold, as well as assist you in gathering some anticipated gaps in your data using effective best practice methods. This can be done in a safe and secure way using the expertise of the team at SIRC, who are adept at handling the gathering and sharing of sensitive data on a daily basis. Sports can then begin to build these methods into their future working practices with the security and guidance of best practice principles. Sport NI look forward to tackling this challenge head on alongside you, working as a strong team together and we are excited by the potential gains that can be made across the Sport System through this important piece of research.
