2 & 4 Wheel Motorsport Development Officer Niall Murray is encouraging sports to sign up to modules from the Sports Governance Academy (SGA).
Bursary places are available across the four different modules which is how Niall originally signed up: “I would be relatively inexperienced in relation to Sports Governance so I thought it was both a good opportunity for me to improve my own knowledge and in turn be able to offer that knowledge to 2&4.
“The SGA offer bursary places and I was fortunate enough to be accepted into it and I started on module 2 and now SGA offered me the opportunity to complete the full course.”
Niall will complete the modules by the end of 2024 and has been able to combine his work and studies to complete the recommended study time of 200 hours.
Now he is encouraging others to sign up to strengthen their knowledge of governance and see how it will improve their own sporting organisation: “It is a great opportunity to improve your knowledge within sports governance or other areas alongside your job.
“The course offers so many resources through reading material, case studies and webinars with professionals in the industry while also being part of a cohort who I can network and connect with.
“It is also flexible, and all resources are online which allows you to study in your own time and complete this course alongside your job. I would highly recommend others to research into the various courses on offer.”
Submissions for Module 2 – Introduction to Sports Governance will close on Thursday 7 November 2024. Modules 3 & 4 are also now open and will close on 5 December 2024 and 16 January 2025 respectively.
