The Safeguarding Refresher for Children and Young People in Sport is now available to complete online via Sport NI’s new Digital Learning Hub.

This course is available to anyone who has previously completed their tutor led safeguarding training (face to face or virtual) and is due a refresher.

The course covers:

- Understanding why safeguarding children and young people in sport is important

- Examine best practice procedures including – codes of conduct within sport

- Identifying the different categories and signs of child abuse

- Recognising, responding, reporting, and recording, issues of poor practice or abuse

Upon completing the course, you will be asked to complete a final quiz before receiving your online certificate. The Safeguarding Refresher for Children and Young People in Sport certificate will be valid for three years.

It is highly recommended that all staff, volunteers, or parents in a sport setting who have contact with children, whether directly or indirectly, complete the course.

This is the first course to be offered on Sport NI’s new Digital Learning Hub which offers on-demand learning and development for the sports sector.

Thanks to the hub, learners can complete courses in their own time and at their own speed, logging in at home or on the go via the app. The Hub will also track your online learning and remind you when your next refresher course needs to be completed.
