Sport Northern Ireland encourages everyone to Get Active through participation in sport and physical recreation – don’t let your gender, geography, ability, or age stop you from enjoying all that sport has to offer.

Sport is not all about competition; taking part in sport and physical recreation is fun, relaxing, and will help keep you healthy – both physically and mentally. It’s also a great way to meet new people and build new friendships.

If you are under 18, being active in a wide range of sports, including multi-skill clubs will help you learn the skills you need to always keep active.

Being a member of a sports club will help you keep active, or involve your family in a sporting activity you all enjoy.

How long should I be active for?

If you are under 18…at least 60 minutes every day of the week,

An adult…30 minutes at least five times a week.

You don’t have to do it all at once – even 10-15 minutes at a time, it all adds up!
