Sport Northern Ireland recognises that ‘Good Governance’ is required in sports organisations if they are to develop, sustain and increase participation in sport; as well as ensure the attainment of success at international level. Good governance ensures that organisations effectively fulfil their roles and responsibilities.
The principles of Good Governance apply not only to Sport Northern Ireland but to all organisations in which we invest. The Sport Northern Ireland Governance and Culture Team works with Governing Bodies of Sport and other organisations to continuously improve their Governance to achieve desired sporting outcomes.
