Closing date for applications is Monday 1 February 2021 at 4.00pm

Sport NI is calling for all eligible organisations that have a primary role in delivering sport and physical recreation to submit an application for a free Covid Safe Sport Pack. Applications for a pack will close on Monday 1 February 2021, at 4pm. Each Covid Safe Sport Pack will include a number of useful items to combat the spread of Covid-19 and help organisations prepare for a safe return to sport, when Government regulations and guidelines permit.

 

Antoinette McKeown, Sport NI CEO, said “We are urging all eligible clubs and organisations to apply for their free Covid Safe Sport Pack. We know it might be hard for clubs and organisations to visualise a return to sport in these uncertain times. However, we want all clubs and organisations eligible to apply to avail of this opportunity for a free Covid Safe Sport Pack. The contents of each pack will help those successful clubs that meet the eligibility requirements transition into a safe return to sport, when Government guidelines and regulations allow us to do so, please visit our website for further information.”

 

The Covid Safe Sport Pack programme initially opened on the 21 September 2020, deliveries for those who have been successful in applying began on the week commencing 18 01 21. Approximately 200 clubs per week will receive their packs. For full details please visit here.

Examples of organisations and clubs that can apply include:

  • Governing Body of Sport recognised by Sport NI (with an office base in NI)
  • Constituted local sports clubs affiliated to a Governing Body of Sport recognised by Sport NI
  • Community & Voluntary sector organisations that deliver or enable sport and/or physical recreation as their primary activity. Sports and Activities must be recognised by Sport NI.
  • Registered NI charities that deliver or enable sport and/or physical recreation as their primary activity. Sports and Activities must be recognised by Sport NI.

Sport NI is working in partnership with Ulster Supported Employment Ltd. (USEL) to manufacture some of the products and to oversee the delivery of the packs.
