Public Consultation: Draft Disability Action Plan (DAP) 2026–2031

Under Section 49A of the Disability Discrimination Act 1995, public authorities are required, when carrying out their functions, to have due regard to the need to promote positive attitudes towards disabled people and to encourage participation by disabled people in public life. In addition, Section 49B of the Act requires public authorities to prepare a Disability Action Plan (DAP) setting out how they propose to fulfil these duties.

Sport NI is consulting on its Draft Disability Action Plan 2026–2031 and would welcome your views on the proposed measures, as well as any suggestions for other ways in which our commitment to these duties could be demonstrated or strengthened.
