Acknowledging and celebrating your grant

When you receive funding from us, we want you to shout about it from the rooftops!

You’ll need Sport NI and National Lottery branding to do this.

There are marketing and publicity requirements included in the Terms & Conditions of your grant and these pages provide you with the necessary tools to publicise your award.

Remember, the Sport NI comms team is on hand to help and can be reached at comms@sportni.net

Websites and digital

We expect to see our funding acknowledged online, including:

  • On websites, by placing our logo on your homepage and linking to our website
  • On third-party websites mentioning a project funded by us
  • In videos, blogs and presentations

Media and public relations

Newspaper, radio, television and online coverage is a great way to promote your project and acknowledge your grant. Not only does it let people know about your success, it also brings to their attention to how National Lottery players’ money is spent.

You should acknowledge your grant in any press coverage for the duration of the grant contract, not just at the time of announcing the grant or when the project has been completed.

Before initiating press coverage, please get in touch with the Sport NI Comms team (comms@sportni.net) and keep them informed of any further press activities.

You must also let us know if your project is nominated for, or wins, any awards. We expect you to acknowledge our support in any speeches, interviews or press releases relating to the award.

Social Media

Social media channels such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram are great ways of publicising your grant and the work that you do.

We would like you to:

  1. Share your grant news on social media, using the hashtag #NationalLottery to thank players and tag @_SportNI and @LottoGoodCauses
  2. Follow Sport NI on social media: we’re on X/Twitter, Facebook and Instagram
  3. Use social media to share news, pictures and video of your project with us throughout your grant

Please always acknowledge National Lottery players’ support by using the #NationalLottery hashtag when posting content related to your grant. To make things easier we’ve got suggested text all really for you to use. Find it here
