Your School Your Club is an initiative to help promote community use of school sports facilities. The opening of the school sports estate to community and club use will have a major impact on the provision of sports facilities throughout Northern Ireland.

Your School Your Club seeks to develop strategic partnerships in order to revitalise existing sports facilities or to develop new/additional provision. The Your School Your Club Steering Group is governed by the Department for Communities (DfC); current membership includes DfC, Department for Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs (DAERA), District Councils, Department for Education (DE), Education Authority (EA) and Sport Northern Ireland.

Carrickfergus Grammar School

The project at Carrickfergus Grammar School was to upgrade their current all-weather pitch to a 2g hockey pitch complete with floodlights, fencing, toilet facilities and associated car parking spaces.

Sport Northern Ireland received a joint Expression of Interest from Carrickfergus Grammar School and Carrickfergus Academy with support from Mid and East Antrim Borough Council.

Donacloney Primary School

Donacloney Primary school wanted to upgrade their shale pitch, to a 55m x 35m 2g synthetic surface with fencing and floodlights.

The School brought their proposed project to Sport Northern Ireland for potential funding through the Your School Your Club initiative which was supported by Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council.

St Louis Grammar School, Ballymena

The project at St Louis Grammar School Ballymena was to upgrade the existing shale GAA pitch to a 3g synthetic surface with floodlights, fencing and car park.

The current sporting provision at the school consists of a natural turf GAA pitch, sports hall, gym, multi-sports ball wall and 3g 5-a-side training facility. All these facilities are used by the school and local community.
